Qualified Teacher’s Status (QTS) (UK)
Diploma in Arts

 |
Deepa’s teaching career has been geared toward the empowerment of primary school children in mainstream setting both in UK and Singapore. She’s had wonderful opportunities to teach diverse age-groups of children, including those with learning difficulties, noncompliant behaviour and, gifted and talented. These experiences have helped her to blossom into a well-rounded and compassionate individual, who takes each student’s unique goal, needs, and interests into account, and creates effective lesson plans and activities to accommodate them.
Deepa’s credentials include a Bachelors of Arts (Honours) degree in ‘Special Educational Needs’ from University of East London (UK), a Qualified Teacher’s Status (QTS) from UK, Diploma in Arts (3 years) and over 7 years of experience of working with children.
Currently, she’s supporting children with specific learning differences at Dynamics as well as teaching mainstream children at Tanglin Trust School and International School of Singapore.
Deepa’s greatest capability in a classroom is facilitating all styles of learners. She develops multi-sensory lesson plans to meet the needs of auditory, visual, tactile, and kinaesthetic learners. She recognises the importance of technology, manipulatives and group work, to teach new concepts and materials. Furthermore, she makes certain that each child receives individualised praise and encouragement, ensuring that he/she remains motivated and does not become frustrated or quit.

|
 |
Anne has many years of experience teaching in mainstream schools, small classes and one to one tutorials both in UK and more recently in Singapore. She is highly qualified to conduct assessments and specialises in supporting students of all ages with general and specific difficulties in the area of literacy. She also provides support in Maths at primary level and has had great success with mentoring and the development of study skills for secondary level students who require support with organisation of course work, assignments and deadlines.
Anne's approach is based on the development of the cognitive processes through individual programmes which will support the auditory, visual, attention and memory skills so essential for learning, along with structured teaching of language, spelling, phonics and writing skills.
Anne believes that students can be motivated through success, increasing self-confidence and finding enjoyment in learning. She recognises the importance of forging trusting relationships and taking the opportunities for building skills through the use of specifically designed computer programmes. Her aims are to help students cope with the pressures of education today and to build a foundation for future learning.
